The episode is one of the best that Buffy has to offer as a series. The filming is excellent, the writing is good, and the acting is some of the best from the show as a whole. Why, though, can I not find a single topic to write about? The ideas that I have had are all cliche or have already been covered by other classmates. I do not feel motivated to discuss this episode in a way that I have discussed others.
Personally, I blame it on the subject matter. I do not enjoy talking about death. It does not please me. Though the episode is undoubtedly a good one, it is not one that I would ever watch for the sake of enjoyment. Whedon's deaths are sudden and absolute, in general, and the reality of them makes the deaths themselves seem more real than most shows.
Is there a more realistic portrayal of death found in TV? Lost didn't do it. BSG certainly didn't do it. Serenity? Possibly. In the end, though, I am left with no questions and no answers. It was what it was.

I agree in every aspect with your post. The filming was excellent, the framing of every shot pushing the meaning across more succinctly than even the well-written lines could.
I, also, do not enjoy discussing death, it is an unpleasant topic. Myself, I prefer to focus not on the death but on the process of grieving, which is much more palatable - grieving can occur with everything from a major loss such as a death to a minor loss such as that of an old, favorite toy (call me silly, but I cried when I lost my favorite toy as a child ... that was hard for toddler-me!)
