Oh hey Sarah Michelle Gellar, how you doing?

I have to admit that I know absolutely nothing about Joss Whedon's works, and I've never watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer before, so I'm writing this blog post with a clear slate of understanding. Frankly, I never even knew about the series until now due to the fact that I live under rocks, and I usually keep it HBO if I watch any shows at all. At the time this television series was popular, I was probably out in my yard playing with sticks.

That being said, it was interesting to watch this series for the first time. I'm new to watching shows of this particular genre, and I enjoyed taking a step back into the late 90's for a bit. Lackluster one-liners from Xander reminded me of a time when people thought that kind of comedy was genuinely funny, which scares me in many ways. Dialogue among characters moves in a predictable fashion, but it is perhaps to be expected with a show like Buffy, and I'm probably being too picky. Combining vampires and other supernatural beasties with the rosy community of Sunnydale and its high school students is a very interesting concept for a show, and I'm curious to see what else pops up within the series as it progresses.
